Yes, and Even More!

INSTRUCTIONS

"You have a poem titled INSTRUCTIONS?"
Yes, and even more.
"Even more?"
Yes, the instructions on how to read the poem are in the poem.
"I'm confused."
You are the other person.
"Yes, and even more!"
And I am the self.
"I want to be the self, too."
Yes, you can be the self.
"How?"
You read my part.
"How do I know it's your part?"
See, no quotations around me.
[At this point, self and other switch parts]
I like this. Can I be the self from now on?
"Yes", 'and even more.'

Note 1: Written January 18, 1998 at PC. Any text in a YAEM poemlet that is surrounded by single quotation marks should be read by both readers [self and other] in unison. So in the last line of the poemlet above, "Yes" will be spoken by the other and ‘and even more' will be spoken in unison by the self and the other.

Note 2: Written about 5 pm on the porch of C33 Villa at Seascape on the Miramar Beach near Destin, Florida. The poem is the most complicated one he's written and he wants me to put it first in the book. How the hell is anyone going to be able to read the book after reading this one. Pass the chips.

Note 3: This will be the first poem in YES, AND EVEN MORE, my new book.
"This is the last poem you wrote?"
Yes, I wrote my first poem last, so to speak.
"The first will be last, and the last will be first, as Jesus said."
What a prophet!
"Yes, and even more."
