—HOUSEHOLD HINT TIDBIT: Simple Method Makes V8 six-pack Easy to place in Fridge and later Remove One at a Time.
Have trouble opening the tight-plastic shrink-wrap package on V8 packages?
You can struggle to remove one can, and then the next, etc. If you then want to put them in fridge, you can't hold all six in your hands at the same time, can you? Finally I discovered a simple expediency shown in the photos. A serrated knife allows you to slice open the hard shrink wrap across the top. Now, by grabbing cans with one hand across the slitted top, you can carry all six cans to a refrigerator shelf and place them there. Later, when you want a cold V8, each can can be easily removed by sliding the wrap to the side.

Polident powder makes an effective toilet bowl cleaner. If you use it for dentures, simply discard the water into the toilet bowl when it's done with your dentures.

Using a Wooden Chopping Board is actually safer than using the new glass or plastic boards. While the new boards are trumpeted to be safer and germ-free, an actual side-by-side test of wooden boards and glass/plastic boards showed that 15 minutes after chopping was done, all signs of bacteria on the wooden chopping boards disappeared, while on the glass/plastic boards, two days later there were still signs of bacteria. Unfortunately, the marketing departments of the glass/plastic boards have chosen to ignore the data showing their products are unsafe and the labels still make the now-proven-erroneous claims that the glass/plastic boards are safer than the wooden ones. Here's the one I've used for twenty years. I simply rinse and wipe it dry when done. == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == ==

When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you "squeeze" for freshness or softness? Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Each day has a different color twist tie. They are :

Monday = Blue
Tuesday = Green
[No WEDNESDAY deliveries]
Thursday = Red
Friday = White
Saturday = Yellow
. So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color Blue - Green - Red - White - Yellow , Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember. I thought this was interesting I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping. ============================================================

Household Uses for Vodka.

== == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == ==

USES:

1. To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka. The solvent dissolves adhesive.

2. To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a trigger-spray bottle with vodka, spray the caulking, let set five minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew.

3. To clean your eyeglasses, simply wipe the lenses with a soft, clean cloth dampened with vodka. The alcohol in the vodka cleans the glass and kills germs.

4. Prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting your safety razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving. The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

5. Spray vodka on vomit stains, scrub with a brush, then blot dry.

6. Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to cleanse the skin and tighten pores.

7. Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo. The alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair, and stimulates the growth of healthy hair.

8. Fill a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle and spray bees or wasps to kill them.

9. Pour one-half cup vodka and one-half cup water in a Ziplock freezer bag and freeze for a slushy, refreshable ice pack for aches, pain or black eyes.

10. Fill a clean, used mayonnaise jar with freshly packed lavender flowers, fill the jar with vodka, seal the lid tightly and set in the sun for three days. Strain liquid through a coffee filter, then apply the tincture to aches and pains.

11. To relieve a fever, use a washcloth to rub vodka on your chest and back as a liniment.

12. To cure foot odor, wash your feet with vodka.

13. Vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting.

14. Pour vodka over an area affected with poison ivy to remove the urushiol oil from your skin.

15. Swish a shot of vodka over an aching tooth. Allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain.

16. Some people actually drink Vodka, but remember all alcohols are poisons, some act slower than others.
